We were contacted recently by Mary Bates, 80, who is making a tandem skydive on 31st August… dressed as Spiderman!
Mary is jumping in her Spiderman outfit in memory of a little boy named Oliver, who died aged 11, of motor neurone disease. Mary’s son Spence also died from MND and she has been fundraising for the Motor Neurone Disease Association for the last few years. Her skydive is her latest fundraising effort.
She contacted us at Skydive Langar to ask for our support in getting as many people as possible to skydive dressed as Spiderman – including tandem jumpers and fun jumpers.
If you’d like to get involved, you’ll need a Spiderman costume and to make a skydive on the 31st August 2024. You can raise money for MNDA through your own Just Giving page, or donate to Mary’s existing page here.
If you don’t have a Spiderman costume or can’t jump that day, you can still support Mary through your donations. If you can jump as Spiderman, there’s a chance you’ll be part of a new world record, as Mary is reaching out to Guiness World Records to find out if we can make it the most Spidermans in the sky on one day, ever.
Please note, any Spiderman costume will need to be checked to ensure it doesn’t interfere with the skydiving equipment.
You can book your tandem skydive and select 31st August here.
Good luck Mary!
